Questions surrounding ethics can be raised very easily. The article I previously posted displays just that, ethics are everywhere. As we discussed in the lecture, one can simply open a newspaper and find an article that could relate to ethics on the front page.
Every business, company and franchise must face this question of ethics with the hopes of the public that they will support the issue in a positive manour. It is not often, however, that positive ethics are discussed. Upon a simple seach on google news I found that the top searches were all negative cases (see post “Ethics Search” to view screenshot) and in fact the majority of articles discussed negative ethical issues. This could be because negative ethics are much easier to track, or because the media tends to follow negative issues more intently as it grabs attention more easily. I feel that a study based on the effects of positive ethics inside a company would be fascinating. It would be interesting to see how a variety of companies ranked in comparison on a rating scale in terms of ethics. Since the matter is so subjective it would be nearly impossible to create an accurate rating.
