Greetings from across the pacific ocean!

“Next to doing the right thing, the most important thing is to let people know you are doing the right thing.” – John D. Rockefeller

As a new student of all things Marketing, I’d like to first introduce a little bit of myself and where I come from. I grew up in Malaysia but spent most of my significant high school years in Thailand. Optimistic, Cheery, Empathetic and Humorous are a couple of words that people have used to describe me. Elsewhere, I have almost no practical experience in marketing, apart from being exposed to every form of advertising 24/7 (I grew up in the heart of the city).

There is almost a non-existant shortage of advertisements in the sizzling saucy city of Bangkok. One obviously over-saturated industry in particular that has every company heavily relying on product branding in order excel is the food industry. What is more interesting is the style of some of the advertisements in this sector. In many of them, high levels of humour (mostly strange and sometimes incomprehensible) are used to get the message across to eventually dumbfounded/confused/amused audiences. Instead of pulling some words somewhere out of my a** to describe these adverts, let me just plainly show you what i am trying to talk about.
