Welcome to my blog for English 301 – Technical Writing!
Within this blog I hope to share some technical writing abstracts, memos, blog posts, reports, emails and other correspondence that can be help me in my professional journey. This blog will share my studies of these topics and provide successes and failures in my studies.
I am currently licensed as a Strata Manager, Rental Manager, Managing Broker and have a diploma in Urban Land Economics. I am completing my Bachelors in Business and Real Estate degree with a hope that it will provide further professional opportunities in my future endeavors.
As a young person in business, I often find myself struggling to communicate with other generations that often prefer a more technical and formal tone in internal and external emails, memos, notices or reports. By taking this course, I am hoping to gain the skills required to close those generational gaps, realize and capitalize on my clients needs and be able to communicate with them effectively. This should help me gain further traction on my current career path.
As always, in all UBC courses, I am also looking to expand my professional network and meet new and interesting peers and engage with others over the course content. Working with a group of like minded young students who are eager to either improve upon their current business correspondence tactics or are jumping into the business world for the first time in the near future will provide comparing theories and opinions that can strengthen my writing.
Please feel free to comment on any of my posts or ask questions as I continue my path towards my degree.
Looking forward to connecting with you all,
Kenny Colosie
