About Me

I am a mature business professional with 10 plus years of business experience with a Fortune 500 company.  As a Product Manager and Supply Chain Analyst of a $50 million portfolio, my context, attention to detail and economics allowed me to constantly surpass sales budgets and quotas.

I come from a family of teachers.  My parents were both teachers, and I am married to a teacher.  I have a young family and have gotten a lot of enjoyment from watching my kids grow, as well as their interactions with their friends. The patience that I have realized in raising them, has led me to want to be a teacher and communicate to my students about the world of business and the real-world skills needed to succeed in the world.

I have come to learn through my career and my education that I learn a certain way.  In specific, I learn by doing and learn from mistakes.  This has opened my ways to the diverse learners that will be in my class and the different literacies necessary to reach and engage those students.

In hindsight, my need for context made me a good merchant, and I believe it will make me an excellent teacher in that my lesson plans will be deliberately planned to ensure motivation, engagement, and learning by all students.
