The Hour of Code is an endeavour out of the United States to get computer science into schools and get more students interested in the field. Currently in the US, 60% of the available jobs require a degree or knowledge of computer science but only 2% of the graduates from college have computer science degrees.
By 2020 in the US, experts estimate that there will be 1 million more jobs than there will be computer science graduates.
The Hour of Code is a fun way to look at programming and generate inquiry without the intimidating language that often scares away students.
