New to UBC

Hi GRS world,

I’m new to UBC this year and I am pretty stoked to be here.  I transferred from Capilano University, which is a super small school in North Vancouver.  I have to admit that I have experienced some degree of “culture shock” with the transition.  The feel and atmosphere at UBC is definitively different from Capilano.  One notable difference is that my class sizes have gone from 30 to 300 students.  I am still getting my bearings, but I think being in the Land and Food Systems Faculty and particularly in GRS will help me find my way in this massive school.  I’m looking forward to new experiences and learning more about international development and how I can make a positive impact in this world.  Food and resource economics is of particular interest to me, so let me know if you know any great courses I should take over the next couple years!
