Anderson, Judy and Gossen, Diane. “Creating Conditions: Leadership for Quality Schools”.

Anderson, Judy and Gossen, Diane. (1995). Creating the Conditions: Leadership for Quality Schools. New View Publications: Chapel Hill, NC.

This book puts the psychological theory called Control Theory into a practical manner for school settings. It more so addresses the entire school, not an individual classroom, but I think I could be applied to one. While I have not read the entire book, I do like Anderson and Gossen’s approach; they argue that a mindset change is needed before any change happens and I wholeheartedly agree. For my students to understand self-awareness they need to understand themselves more and, as a society, I feel that we are very distracted beings so changing my students habits would need to happen in order for them to be more mindful. I do not know if this is possible for me to do, but I still think I can pull some points of reference from chapter four: Aligning Practices.
