Apologies for the blandness and the predictability, but here’s another hilarious commercial that I’ve been linked to in the past by a friend…

I found this commercial downright hilarious, due to the completely unexpected twist at the end. Prior to viewing this commercial, I had never heard of Berlitz, and had absolutely no idea what in the world a Berlitz book was. I’ve since learned that Berlitz publishes language instruction books. It is now the one and only language guidebook publisher that I know of.
I should have another blog post some time in the next few days – not containing another YouTube commercial, I swear! – that I had planned to have finished by today but haven’t because I’ve been rather busy in the past week or so.
Bye for now!
The commercials we watched in class about Baby Carrots got me thinking about the other funny commercials I’ve watched over the years. Here’s one of my favourites…

I found this commercial extremely amusing, as it wasn’t immediately clear what the kid was trying to do at first, at least to me. In my opinion, this was a very successful advertisement. I may be biased because I had always preferred Pepsi over Coca-Cola, but this further put Pepsi in my good books, and made my perception of Pepsi even more favourable.
Looking back at it today, I realized that this commercial was rather daring and unorthodox for its time. It looks like it was produced a good many years ago, and only recently have I really started seeing commercials single out a competitor by name.
Well, I guess this is it. The inaugural post of my newly made marketing blog.
I guess I’ll start off by saying how excited I am to have the opportunity to learn more about marketing in the Comm 296 Introduction to Marketing course that I am taking his semester. The first few days were rather mind-blowing; it’s quite amazing when you realize how much marketing is a part of our lives today. And that’s just the beginning! There’s still lots to be learned…
This blog will be used to record my personal experiences with marketing, as they happen. Thanks for reading!
