{"id":49,"date":"2010-11-13T23:46:15","date_gmt":"2010-11-14T06:46:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/ktong\/?p=49"},"modified":"2010-12-03T15:33:16","modified_gmt":"2010-12-03T22:33:16","slug":"targeted-advertisement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/ktong\/2010\/11\/13\/targeted-advertisement\/","title":{"rendered":"Targeted Advertisement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I found a very interesting blog post about targeted advertisement on <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/vcid\/2010\/11\/10\/targeted-advertisement\/\" target=\"_blank\">Vitor Cid&#8217;s blog<\/a>, which just happens to have the same name as mine (great minds think alike?).<\/p>\n<p>He does a great job of explaining what targeted advertisement is, how it is done, and its benefits.\u00a0 He then mentions how one of the easiest places to conduct targeted advertising is on the Internet, where it is extremely prevalent.\u00a0 I found this part of the post particularly intriguing, because if we accept that computers and technology is what will dominate our future, internet advertising will be then be the dominant form of advertising in the future.<\/p>\n<p>The advertising that we see on the Internet today is a brief glimpse into the future &#8211; a preview, if you will &#8211; of advertising, marketing in general, and even our culture itself.<\/p>\n<p>Interested?\u00a0 Excited?\u00a0 Scared?\u00a0 How about undecided, because we really never know exactly what the future will bring.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I found a very interesting blog post about targeted advertisement on Vitor Cid&#8217;s blog, which just happens to have the same name as mine (great minds think alike?).
