We believe the Ktunaxa CLCs will lead to improved health outcomes, such as:

  • Providing accessible trusted health information
  • Promoting community wellness and engagement
  • Incorporating cultural beliefs, attitudes, and practices into health information
  • Enabling access to and use of traditional language
  • Developing long-term research and technological capacity
  • Engaging community members to participate in community-based initiatives
  • Increasing employment chances via technical, research and interpersonal skills training
  • Improving awareness of community health resources
  • Facilitating collaboration between community members (e.g., children, youth, adults, elders)
  • Encouraging community members to build new and expand upon existing health resources/programs
