Background
The University of British Columbia’s eHealth Strategy Office is collaborating with BC’s Ktunaxa Nation on the design, implementation, and evaluation of Community Learning Centres (CLCs) in Akisq’nuk, Aq’am and Lower Kootenay. CLCs are an innovative eHealth concept that integrates authentic community engagement into each stage of development, implementation and evaluation.
The main purpose of each CLC is to provide:
- freely accessible Internet-linked computers to all members in a community-based facility
- web-based health information relevant to health priorities defined by the communities
