Mini Inquiry

Story of Object:

When my boyfriend visited in the middle of September he picked this when we were walking home one evening. It came from somewhere near where I live – general East Vancouver neighborhood. Being that is it dried out now it isn’t as pretty as it once was. Clearly some flowers dry out better than others. It doesn’t really matter to me what it looks like since the person who gave it to me is more important. I like having flowers but I think it’s a waste of money since they usually die about a week later. Knowing this my boyfriend started picking flowers for me while he went on walks. Something I can learn from this object is the idea of expanding it into plants in general or use it as an example of how something seemingly worthless can have a bigger meaning.

Questions about the Object:

How long would it have lived it wasn’t picked? Did the owner of the plant even notice the missing flower? How many, if any, other colors can this flower come in? What’s the name of the flower? Has anyone ever been sued for plucking flowers?
