Best Work

Here are some examples of my best work from the course English 301 (Technical Writing) at the University of British Columbia:

  1. Definition assignment: this assignment helped in writing with different audiences in mind. When communicating to people of different specializations, it is important to understand where they are coming from and writing in terms they will understand.
  2. Formal report proposal: this assignment required analyzing, investigating, and recommending action for an issue in a public setting that we, the writers, are a part of.
  3. Complaint letter: this assignment highlighted the need to write with an “you-attitude” when dealing with difficult topics, such as complaints.
  4. Peer review: Throughout the term, we were required to peer review our teammates’ assignments. This provided great insights for the one receiving the feedback of what is well-written and which areas need improvement. As a peer reviewer, it also helped in understanding what readers are looking for when reading such documents.
