BYOM (Bring Your Own Mug) and support Librarians Without Borders

BYOM (bring your own mug) Event:

Librarians Without Borders student committee at UBC is pleased to announce a BYOM (bring your own mug) event on Monday October 19 between 11:30am and 12:30pm in the SLAIS lounge. Here’s how it works: you provide a drinking receptacle and we provide delicious organic, fairly-trade coffee from Café Ético.

This event is by donation, in support of LWB@UBC’s Coffee for a Cause.

Coffee for a Cause:

All funds raised through ‘Coffee for a Cause’ will go to retired teacher-librarian Carroll Airey’s Take a Stand For Kids (TASK). Carroll, founder of the not-for-profit project, was recipient of Co-Development Canada’s 2008 Solidarity Award for TASK’s work in South America. Since its inception in 1998, TASK has implemented a variety of successful projects, including the creation of school libraries in rural communities. Café Ético is a subsidiary of Co-Development Canada and is committed to providing high-quality, organic and ethically traded products.
