Creating a LinkedIn Profile

Creating a LinkedIn profile was something I had never attempted before. I think having a LinkedIn profile is a great way to make connections with possible future employers or employees that you wouldn’t normally have the chance to connect with. Social media is a great platform to reach new people, and LinkedIn makes it easy to update your information as well as choose which information you want to include that is the most relevant to the field you desire to work in. Completing research on Best Practices for Professional Networking on LinkedIn was helpful in knowing what steps to take to create the most professional profile. I hope to continue using LinkedIn as a way to build connections in the field that I wish to pursue.

Report Proposal and Outline

In the process of creating a report proposal, I found the most difficult part of it to be coming up with an idea that was interesting, yet feasible. The reason I chose my topic of introducing a happiness program at UBCO residence is because mental health is something that I strongly believe in. Once I began to think of topics that interest me and that I am passionate about, I found it easier to come up with an idea that I felt confident in. Since I have created a schedule for myself, I believe that it will be possible to complete my research along with my formal report in a timely manner. I am looking forward to seeing my formal report come together.

Peer Review Process

I enjoyed the process of peer reviewing because I am interested in seeing the writing style of my peers, as well as getting feedback on how to improve my writing style. Throughout this process I have learned that I need to include more details instead of giving a general description. I have also learned that in order to be clearly understood my multiples audiences, I need to try and take an outsiders look at my own work. I find it interesting to view my peer’s assignment because we all come up with original ways to complete the assignments, which gives each us opportunities to learn from each other, which I believe is the whole point of peer reviewing and having a writing team.
