My favourite activity + my generation + my area of study = How to market travel to millenials.
The word travel is huge. It means airlines, hotels, activities, countries, cultures, and more.
Gina Baillie, GM, EyeForTravel, shared this presentation with me, that highlights what millenials are looking for when it comes to travel opportunities. Pairing these insights with knowledge of digital marketing will let travel companies make the most of this target. I’ve selected a few key slides that encompass key facts and why they’re useful.



So we can see that millenials are really excited about traveling and meeting new people. There are also opportunities to extend into group travel deals, or non-business activities in business hotels or sectors – for that 70% that will extend their work trip into a personal vacay. An interesting point is the millenials preference for “interesting over comfort”. This means they like unique experiences and activities, boutiques over chains, and new versus the usual. With such a large portion of this target using travel apps, we have the perfect medium to reach out and communicate with them. May as well make the most of it!
