DEFINITION ASSIGNMENT
For this assignment, we must write three definitions of a term we choose: parenthetical definition, sentence definition, and expanded definition. The purpose of this assignment is for students to be able to differentiate between different types of definitions, as well as knowing the proper use of them given different type of situation and different audience.
Below is attached the PDF of the definition of Calculus. My target audience are mostly high-school students or university students with some pre-calculus background but have not taken the actual calculus class yet, thus are still unaware of the term. The goal is to give the audience a little bit of overview of what is meant by calculus and some exposure to the theory used in the field.

FORMAL REPORT PROPOSAL
This assignment allows students to express their idea to peers on improving their community using professional writing attitude. It also serves as a preparation material for one of the term project, which is formal report.
As both a student and former tutor, I’ve always been interested in learning on how different types of notes can change a student’s motivation and learning habit. Thus, I’m proposing to assess the effectiveness of visual notes as an additional learning aids for Langara College MATH 1150 students. Please find the PDF file of my report below.

COMPLAINT LETTERS
In this assignment, students are encouraged to practice on their YOU-attitude writing style in a real life situation, where students act as both unsatisfied customer writing a complaint letter, and as responsible manager writing a bad news letter. This assignment allows students to learn on how professional workers and customers should behave difficult situations to reach mutual understanding.

At the end of all assignments, students are required to write a peer review for one of their professional writing teammate.Peer review serves as a reflection for both parties (reader and writer), where writers can learn on their essay’s weaknesses from their peers, and readers can provide suggestions for improvement, as well as learning on how handle similar issue when writing.
