I thought it was interesting the way the short history of Lytton that you posted begins by describing the ‘naming’ of the Thompson River, the town – without acknowledging that these acts of ‘naming’ were indeed acts of ‘re-naming’, which is a way of claiming. I have travelled through Lytton on the way to Kamloops, a long time ago; it is a beautiful part of the world. I hope you enjoy the challenges and rewards that English 372 offers and I very much look forward to working and learning together this semester.
