- Three Definition Assignment
In this assignment, we had to explain a relatively complex terminology that is used in a specific field to non background people. This requires three different writing strategies, which include parenthetical, sentence, and expanded definition. I picked Kepler’s Law which is normally used when we talk about an oval orbit for the planets. This was good practice to explain in an easy way.

- Peer Review of Definition
I was assigned with my teammate Kelly for this task. At the first time, I felt uncomfortable giving feedback and getting back. But after this time, I got familiar with this process. From Kelly, I got some detailed feedback for a non science degree person’s perspective and that was really helpful. I also gave her some MLA style rules feedback and composition advice.

- Formal Report Proposal and Progress Report with Surveys
This assignment was the hardest part for me. Since I finished my degree 5 years ago, I have little confidence to do this report. But after getting rejected 3 times, I felt really hard. My topic was about “Increasing Rubbish bins to Reduce Littering on Campus”, and the best part during the research was finding rubbish bins by walking around campus. So my final comment was UBC should increase rubbish bins on campus.

- LinkedIn Best Practices Memo
As LinkedIn is the most popular platform for job marketing, we need to reorganise our LinkedIn profile more professionally. As a result, I improved my profile by the tips I searched. This includes several sources for the professional profile on LinkedIn.

- Memo to Evan Crisp
This assignment was a role playing task to learn YOU-Attitude. This memo is to student Evan Crisp to provide some tips for his email writing. His writing was disorganised, informal, and unprofessional, so we had to give him some tips to improve that.

- Complaint Letter and Response Letter
This is also a practice of YOU-Attitude, we were required to make a situation for specific complaint and response for that. I was suffering from upper floor leaking at that time, so this assignment was really helpful to me.

- Peer Review of a Formal Report
In this assignment, we were required to review a teammate’s first draft of a formal report. I was assigned to Ben, and his writing was good enough. From this work, I could identify my weakness and learn from his strengths. This was enjoyable task to me.

- Formal Report
This is our ultimate assignment for this term. This writing has a cover page, contents table, introduction, data, method, and result. This whole procedure was long, but after finishing the data section, it was not too hard to write. From this task, I can get several tips and skills on how to write formal reports in English and also professionally. I really enjoyed reading the survey responses as well.
