Project Overview

The Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society Fresh Choice Kitchens would like to add scientific information into their current canning manual given to canning trainers in their “Train-the-Trainer Canning Workshop”.Their current manual consists of a compilation of information on safe canning techniques and instructions.

Below are our expected project outcomes:
– the addition of a FAQ section to the current manual
– the addition of a chapter to the current manual explaining the science underlying various safe canning techniques
– clarity and understandablity tested among a focus group organized by Fresh Choice Kitchens
– location of an expert who would be able to assist Fresh Choice Kitchens whenever they receive complex questions regarding the science of canning
