THE OXFORD GLOBAL CHALLENGE

THE OXFORD GLOBAL CHALLENGE

You are invited to dive deep into an issue you are passionate about and present your findings to the world. Take on the Oxford Global Challenge!

Solve a global challenge, win cash prizes, and compete for an opportunity to present at the finals at Oxford University.

The Oxford Global Challenge asks participants to demonstrate a deep understanding of a pressing social or environmental issue by mapping out the landscape of the current solutions and identifying missing opportunities for positive change. By working in teams, or stepping out on your own, you will dive into the ecosystem of a problem and present your findings.

UBC winners will be invited to present their work at a Canadian national final event, with an opportunity to win cash prizes and the chance to attend the Global Challenge Final in Oxford, UK.

Trips to the national and international competitions are fully-funded for winning teams and there is no cost to register.

Find out more (and register) click here: www.oxfordglobalchallenge.com and look for UBC-specific resources here: http://www.sauder.ubc.ca/globalchallenge

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: DECEMBER 20TH, 2016

Information Session – UBC Sustainability Scholars Summer Program 2017

Looking for a professional development experience? Want to make a difference in the community? Join us at our upcoming information session and learn about the UBC Sustainability Scholars program.

The program provides UBC graduate students with paid internship opportunities to tackle real-world sustainability challenges. Students work 250 hours over the summer (from May 1 through August 11) and are paid $5000. Past Scholars have had the opportunity to work with the City of Vancouver, Metro Vancouver, BC Hydro, Fraser Health, UBC Farm, Provincial Health Services Authority, and the Vancouver Economic Commission (to name a few).

By attending this event, you’ll hear first-hand from former scholars and representatives from our partner organizations about what it’s like to participate in the program; and what it offers in terms of skills development, job prospects, and networking. We will also review the deadlines and application details, and answer questions that you may have about the program.
