Post-Doctoral Fellow Opportunity

Dr. Sonia Anand of Population Genomics Program is looking to hire a Post-Doctoral Fellow to work with her and other team members on a birth cohorts consortium project with a focus on understanding the role of maternal and early childhood diet in development of Metabolic Syndrome and related traits among children. The project also aims to identify maternal and early life biomarkers which predict the risk of Metabolic Syndrome and its consequences in children. Specifically the role of the incumbent will be to help determine the impact of maternal dietary patterns and metabolome on newborn anthropometric characteristics including birthweight, birth length, waist circumference and skinfold thickness.
 Qualifications:
1. The successful candidate will have completed their doctorate degree or expect to complete it in the next 6 months.
2. The ideal candidate will have basic life science/biology/engineering training and have demonstrated expertise in dietary/nutritional data analysis/interpretation. Familiarity with biomarker identification using metabolomics will be an asset.
3. The candidate will also have demonstrated a strong statistical understanding, especially as it relates to working with large datasets dietary intake, physical measures, health behaviors and lab analysis.
4. Knowledge of and experience working with various statistical analysis programs such as SAS and R  is required.
