Approximately three weeks remain before classes begin and a new cohort of LFS Grad Students join our hallways. For the past couple of years, the LFS Grad Council has organized a buddy system to pair returning students with new students so that the ins and outs about being a grad student in our faculty or particularly in one of our diverse programs. We are now accepting names of interested returning students to be buddies particularly for the incoming research students!
Here are the tentative new additions to the grad student community for 2013-2014.
Incoming research students:
- Animal Science: 1 M.Sc
- Food Science: 4 M.Sc./2 Ph.D.
- Human Nutrition: 2 M.Sc/2 Ph.D.
- Integrated Studies in Land and Food Systems: 1 M.Sc./2 Ph.D.
- Soil: 3 M.Sc./1 Ph.D.
Incoming professional students:
- 24 Masters in Food Resource Economics
- 25 Masters of Food Science
- 3 Masters in Land and Water Systems
If you are interested in being a buddy for a student in your program, please respond to this email with your name, program and contact information (email and phone). We will assign you to a new student with some suggestions on how to help them out.
