2015 YINI Grant – Call for proposals is now open

This grant is dedicated to “The role of yogurt in the prevention and management of non-communicable diseases”. It is supported by the Yogurt In Nutrition Initiative (YINI), which is composed of the Danone Institute International, the American Society for Nutrition (ASN) and the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF). For 2015, $30,000 are available to support one application for 2 years.

This summer, UBC Faculty of Education is offering the 6th Annual Drama Education Summer Institute – a five-day intensive that explores the use of drama across curricular areas and grade levels. Educators in contemporary learning environments are increasingly called upon to employ complex and adaptable pedagogical strategies to meet the needs of many learners.

2015 SUMMER INSTITUTE in DRAMA EDUCATION

DRAMA, LITERACY AND CREATIVITY for all learners

JULY 6-10 | UBC Vancouver

academic credit | non-credit registration option

This 5-day institute examines how drama can enhance learning experiences in multiple contexts and disciplines, through creative approaches suitable for learners of all ages, levels of ability, and cultural or linguistic backgrounds.

By combining hands-on drama-based strategies with academic literature, this course promotes engagement with learners through cognitive, kinesthetic and socio-emotional approaches.

A diverse array of drama strategies (i.e., role playing, tableaux, hot-seating) will be introduced to provide participants with additional teaching tools to better enhance their specific curriculum needs.

Seats are limited, early registration recommended.

Waitlist Registration is now OPEN for July 20, 22, 24 2015 Grad ISW

Waitlist registration is now open for the Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW) July 20, 22, 24 2015.  The ISW is an internationally recognized program and students receive transcript notation for their participation.  It is a 3-day intensive workshop that develops participant’s teaching skills and confidence.  It is appropriate for first time teachers or those with years of experience.  Join the thousands of students who have taken this workshop.

IMPORTANT: The workshop runs from 8:15am-5:00pm. Please note you must be able to attend all three days, i.e. the entire 24 hour workshop.  Please find attached the policy for registering in an ISW, and an FAQ sheet.
