Let’s Talk Science Volunteer Recruitment! Teacher Partnership Program

Standard

We want to tell you about a great volunteering opportunity with Let’s Talk Science at UBC! Our goal is to translate science into the classrooms and make science fun and engaging for youth!

Our largest program is the Teacher Partnership Program (http://ubclts.com/partnership), where volunteers are paired with teachers in the lower mainland and visit their classrooms throughout the year to conduct hands-on science activities. We will be holding training sessions the last week of January for anyone interested in getting involved!

Trainings will cover general techniques for delivering an awesome and fun activity. We’ll show you some of the kits you can borrow from our office and give you a chance to try your hand at designing your own activity. Oh, and there will be pizza!

Training Dates:

Tuesday, January 26 5:30-7:30pm, Centre for Brain Health 3402

Wednesday, January 27 5:30-7:30pm, Centre for Brain Health 3402

You can sign up for a session by going here: https://goo.gl/fgb8xs

We also run one-off Community Events throughout the year (http://ubclts.com/community) and even send groups of volunteers on Rural and Remote Trips across BC and the Yukon (http://ubclts.com/trips). If you would like to get involved with these opportunities, please emailcommunity@ubclts.com or trips@ubclts.com.
