In previous years, graduate students from around the country and internationally have enrolled because they lacked access to similar courses in their home institutions \u2013 this might be the case for some of your own students or peers.\u00a0These courses are also open to professional and community-based learners. Please pass this message along to anyone you think might be interested.<\/p>\n Best,<\/p>\n Colin<\/p>\n ALE 6110: Transformative Agroecology<\/strong><\/p>\n SHIFTING PRACTICES AND PARADIGMS FOR FOOD SYSTEM TRANSFORMATION<\/em><\/p>\n Agroecology is multifaceted – connecting political, socio-cultural, productive, and environmental threads together in an integrated approach to food and farming systems. This introductory course covers the evolution of agroecology from its origins to the present, including the myriad ways it is both understood and practiced. Course participants will explore conceptual and practical content from around the globe, and collectively engage in critical inquiry, reflect on their own place and power within agri-food systems, and assess agroecology\u2019s potential for moving us closer to full transformation of our current food systems.<\/p>\n
