{"id":10950,"date":"2024-08-20T10:30:11","date_gmt":"2024-08-20T17:30:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/lfsgrads\/?p=10950"},"modified":"2024-08-20T10:30:11","modified_gmt":"2024-08-20T17:30:11","slug":"competition-announcement-tri-agency-cgs-doctoral-competitions-cgsd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/lfsgrads\/post-10950","title":{"rendered":"Competition Announcement: Tri-Agency CGS Doctoral Competitions (CGSD)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Tri-Agency Canada Graduate Scholarships-Doctoral (CGS-D)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Applicant deadline:<\/strong> <strong>Friday, 13 September 2024 at 12:00 noon PT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Please notify me about your intention of applying by Sep 5<sup>th<\/sup>, 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The Canada Graduate Scholarships \u2013 Doctoral (CGS D) program is a federal program of scholarships awarded through national competitions by the granting agencies: the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (<strong>CIHR<\/strong>), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (<strong>NSERC<\/strong>) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (<strong>SSHRC<\/strong>).<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Eligibility:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applicants applying through UBC will either be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>currently registered in, or are on an approved leave of absence from, a degree program at UBC<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>not currently registered anywhere but was registered at any other time during the year of application (2024) in a degree program at UBC<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Complete eligibility criteria are available on the\u00a0<\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nserc-crsng.gc.ca\/Students-Etudiants\/PG-CS\/CGSD-BESCD_eng.asp#a4\">CGS D program page<\/a><\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Important Note: Some eligibility requirements for CGS D differ from those of the agency-specific doctoral awards.\u00a0Refer to the appropriate literature for\u00a0<\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cihr-irsc.gc.ca\/e\/50513.html\">CIHR<\/a><\/strong><strong>,\u00a0<\/strong><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nserc-crsng.gc.ca\/Students-Etudiants\/PG-CS\/BellandPostgrad-BelletSuperieures_eng.asp\">NSERC<\/a><\/strong><strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/strong><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sshrc-crsh.gc.ca\/funding-financement\/programs-programmes\/fellowships\/doctoral-doctorat-eng.aspx\">SSHRC<\/a><\/strong><strong>\u00a0for further details.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If a student is not sure where to submit their application, they can consult the CGSD chart &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nserc-crsng.gc.ca\/_doc\/Students-Etudiants\/CGSDFlowchart_e.PDF\">Where should I submit my application?<\/a>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Applications will be submitted via each of the agency platforms<\/strong>.
