I am excited to announce the Sustainability Scholars Program wrap-up conference \u201cResearch to Action: Advancing Urban Sustainability 2024<\/a>.\u201d We are holding it in-person at the Point Grey campus\u00a0and I hope you can attend\u2014the Scholars have produced\u00a0some exemplary research\u00a0on a\u00a0wide variety of sustainability topics<\/a>\u00a0this year.<\/p>\n We thought that you and\u00a0the graduate students in your network might be interested in this event showcasing a range of graduate student sustainability research. We invite you to\u00a0register for the event\u00a0and kindly ask that you\u00a0share this information\u00a0with your network. Your support in spreading the word would be greatly appreciated!<\/p>\n Please find further details below: <\/p>\n What happens when you give bright and engaged students real-world sustainability problems to solve?<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n UBC Sustainability Scholars are helping to generate real change in the world.\u00a0Join us on Wednesday, October\u00a02 to learn more about the ways in which these students are supporting our local governments and institutions to future-proof our people, our cities, and our urban spaces.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This afternoon of engaged discussion will cover a diverse range of applied sustainability projects produced by UBC graduate students under the mentorship of community partners including the City of Vancouver, Metro Vancouver, TransLink, local health authorities, local governments, various NGOs and more.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Scholars will present their projects in concurrent themed panel sessions throughout the afternoon. Panels will be moderated by experts from UBC and Sustainability Scholars Program partners.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n When<\/strong>:\u00a0Wednesday, October 2, 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Where<\/strong>:\u00a0Centre for Interactive Research on Sustainability, 2260 West Mall, Vancouver, BC (in-person only)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Registration<\/strong>:\u00a0Free to all.
