DOCTORAL deadlines for April<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please note: there are two sets of deadlines for spring, and they are very close together, which can be confusing. The first set of deadlines is for candidates who want to participate in the Spring Graduation Ceremony. Meeting these\u00a0deadlines is key for students to ensure they can walk in convocation.<\/p>\n

The second set of deadlines is for April 30 program completion. For candidates who miss the graduation deadline, this second set of deadlines will ensure their program is complete by the end of semester, but they will not<\/strong> be in time for graduation.<\/p>\n

The deadline for submission of Nominations for External Examiner for PhD candidates wanting to complete on the timeline for Spring Graduation\u00a0was last Friday, November 22. While this is a slightly flexible deadline, forms should really be in by Friday this week, to avoid delays.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the other dates candidates need to meet for Spring Graduation<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0are as follows:<\/p>\n

FRIDAY, 24 JANUARY, 2025\u00a0\u2013 Doctoral dissertation (and supporting documentation) submitted to Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies for external examination.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n


\nFRIDAY, 21 MARCH 2025\u00a0\u2013 Last Day for Final Doctoral Oral Examination.<\/strong><\/p>\n


\nTHURSDAY,\u00a017 APRIL 2024 \u2013 Acceptance of final, approved doctoral dissertation by Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. Please note that this is a Thursday because of Easter.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Not quite the same, but similarly:<\/p>\n

The deadline for submission of Nominations for External Examiner for PhD candidates wanting to complete on the timeline for\u00a0April 30 Program completion\u00a0is last Friday,\u00a0December 6. While this is a slightly flexible deadline, we may struggle to find an examiner before the winter break for forms that come in late.<\/p>\n

Students will be able to choose to defend either in person or on Zoom. We will work with students to select the most appropriate mode for their defence.<\/p>\n
