I\u2019m writing to you in your role as Department Head to share a program being offered to graduate students and postdocs this coming May in Ottawa and Montr\u00e9al.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The program is called \u201cScience Outside the Lab,\u201d and it\u2019s a week-long immersion into the world of science policy and decision making. Through the program, students have a chance to meet experts ranging from science journalists & museum curators to federal funders & science advisors. They\u2019ll also gain a richer understanding of how policy is made, how to communicate with funders and decision-makers, and how science shapes – and is shaped by – government decisions.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve attached a brochure about the program, and all the information and applications are available online at\u00a0<\/span>SOtLnorth.ca<\/span><\/a>. We\u2019ll begin offering acceptances for the sessions after February 15th.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019d be really grateful if you could circulate it with the graduate students and postdocs in your department, as well as other faculty members who might have interested students.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
