Dr. Verena Seufert<\/strong> “<\/em>What is this thing called organic? How organic farming is codified in regulations“<\/em> Wednesday, March 29, 2017<\/strong> 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.<\/strong> Liu Institute for Global Issues, Multipurpose Room<\/a>,\u00a0UBC Vancouver Campus Organic farming is one of the fastest growing sectors of world agriculture. Although it represents only one per cent of world agricultural area, organic is one of the most recognized food labels and most people in developed countries consume some amount of organic food today. For this talk<\/a> Dr. Verena Seufert<\/strong>, a Post Doctoral Fellow in UBC\u2019s Land Use and Global Environment Lab, will expand on her research examining different organic regulations from across the world to understand how they have codified the large diversity of ideas inherent in organic agriculture.
