\n<\/span> The Research Commons grad student team is taking a brief spring break until mid-May. Our regular thesis formatting, data analysis software, and citation management workshops and consultations resume May 15<\/span><\/strong>. You can find workshop dates, descriptions and links to register below.<\/p>\n

UBC Library branches are open during intersession. Why not take this time to connect with your subject librarian<\/b><\/a> for help with literature reviews, finding subject resources, publishing research, and much more!<\/span><\/p>\n

Systematic Review Search Methods<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n


\n<\/span> Need to know what the search process for systematic reviews is about? This session will provide an introduction to the process of locating relevant studies and recording the methodology. Topics include the systematic review process, framing the search question with tools like PICO, searching Medline and other databases and grey literature sources, and tips for using citation management software for systematic reviews.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, you can     get 1-1 help<\/b><\/a> with Mendeley, RefWorks and Zotero in-person or online. Get\u00a0tips on\u00a0organizing your research, formatting bibliographies, and\u00a0creating in-text citations.<\/span><\/p>\n

    NVivo – Qualitative Analysis<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n


    \n<\/span> Improve your research results and gain new insights into your data by learning\u00a0to use NVivo, a powerful qualitative data analysis software. Workshops are offered separately for PC and Mac users, and there are two levels of workshops: introductory (part 1), and intermediate (part 2).<\/p>\n

    R Study Group<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n


    \n<\/span> Join the UBC\u00a0R Study Group\u00a0and learn how to code and collaborate with others on open science projects.\u00a0All graduate\u00a0students, scientists and researchers are welcome!<\/p>\n

    This semester, the R Study Group will be co-working on a group project, and honing skills in Shiny, Leaflet, API, and time series analysis. Their other sessions this term included Advanced R, and various Utility Belt sessions.<\/p>\n
