Flaherty,\u00a0 the objectives of this program are as follows; <\/span><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li style=\"margin: 0px; color: black; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif; font-size: 10.5pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;\"><span style=\"margin: 0px; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif; font-size: 10.5pt;\">To build on the network of academic links between Canada and Ireland, resulting in increased academic co-operation, greater inter-cultural understanding and the potential for increased trade between both countries,\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #202020; font-family: Helvetica; font-size: large;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0px; color: black; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif; font-size: 10.5pt; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;\"><span style=\"margin: 0px; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif; font-size: 10.5pt;\">To support the development of excellence in research of individual scholars who have an expressed and demonstrable commitment to research in a field relating to both Canada &amp; Ireland. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: black; font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif; font-size: 10.5pt;\"><br \/>\nIt is the aim of the Foundation to support preeminent scholars and academics who are leaders, or future leaders, in their academic or post-academic professional field, and to this end, awards are made on two levels:<\/p>\n<p>If you are an <strong><span style=\"margin: 0px; font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif;\">established senior researcher or academic<\/span><\/strong>, and taking part-time sabbatical-style leave from your academic appointments, you may be eligible for the <strong><u><span style=\"margin: 0px; font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/icuf.us6.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=3e7d4214f445a2bc1f44c3979&amp;id=fbe2a13db7&amp;e=8400ae3d9f\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #ab182c; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; font-weight: normal;\">Flaherty Visiting Professorship<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/u><\/strong>. This award could support you making a trip as a Visiting Professor for <strong><span style=\"margin: 0px; font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif;\">up to twelve weeks<\/span><\/strong> in a university department in Canada \/ Ireland where you will collaborate in both research and teaching.<\/p>\n<p>If you are a <strong><span style=\"margin: 0px; font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif;\">PhD student or post-doctoral academic in the early stages of your research career<\/span><\/strong>, you may be eligible for the <strong><span style=\"margin: 0px; font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/icuf.us6.list-manage1.com\/track\/click?u=3e7d4214f445a2bc1f44c3979&amp;id=5038a2bf0f&amp;e=8400ae3d9f\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #ab182c; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; font-weight: normal;\">Flaherty Research Scholarship<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/strong>. This award supports a short research visit of <strong><span style=\"margin: 0px; font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif;\">four to six weeks<\/span><\/strong>, and is designed to help scholars make contacts with researchers working in related research topics, with a view to widening and deepening the scholar\u2019s research horizons, ideally leading to continued collaboration in future research.<\/p>\n<p>Applications must be submitted by <strong><span style=\"margin: 0px; font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif;\">Wednesday 31st of May<\/span><\/strong>.
