These awards are available for UBC and BCIT students who demonstrate outstanding scholastic achievements, leadership skills and devotion to food science and technology. Each award is valued at $500-1000.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Helvetica; font-size: x-large;\">Eligibility<\/span><\/h3>\n<h4 align=\"center\"><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #000000; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif; font-size: 10.5pt;\">To be eligible, applicants must be BCFT members (through CIFST or IFT) and must be registered students at BCIT or UBC. Students are eligible to apply if they are currently registered or registered for the upcoming year (2017-2018). Individuals must complete the application form and send supporting documents to\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" target=\"_blank\">bcftstudentawards@gmail.com<\/a>\u00a0by June 30, 2017.<\/span><\/h4>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Helvetica; font-size: x-large;\">The Application<\/span><\/h3>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #000000; line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif; font-size: 10.5pt;\">The application asks for details relating to experiences (for example internships, work experience, and lab experience) that have contributed to the applicant&#8217;s understanding of food science, and how this has impacted career goals. Also part of the evaluation criteria is the applicant&#8217;s involvement in food science-related activities and the impact of these contributions. Applicants are additionally asked to outline the reasons they feel they are a deserving candidate for the award. Contact information for an individual willing to provide a letter of support for the applicant is also required. This individual will be contacted by BCFT to obtain the letter of support. Please ensure that a curriculum vitae (or resume) and an unofficial transcript are emailed directly to\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" target=\"_blank\">bcftstudentawards@gmail.com<\/a>\u00a0with &#8220;BCFT Student Scholarship&#8221; followed by the applicant&#8217;s name in the subject line.
