Monday, July 10 <\/span><\/b>– deadline to inform Lia of your intention to submit an application. \u00a0Please email Lia by this date so that she will have time to prepare your transcripts and calculate your GPA’s before the application deadline.<\/span><\/p>\n

Friday, July 14 <\/span><\/b>– deadline to submit your completed, SIGNED<\/b> application.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The following are questions I have been receiving so I thought I’d do up an FAQ.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Can I submit my application electronically?<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Yes. \u00a0Please email your scanned completed SIGNED<\/b> application to Lia at\u00a0lia.maria@ubc.ca<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Sorry for repeating SIGNED<\/b> yet again. \u00a0Unfortunately, every year we receive many applications right at the deadline that are not signed. \u00a0Please make sure you sign your application before submitting it and I promise not to mention SIGNED<\/b> again!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Is there a reference template?<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

No. \u00a0Your referees are welcome to provide a free-form reference. \u00a0We require two academic references. \u00a0A reference letter written by an academic who can provide first-hand knowledge of your academic ability is generally preferred.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Can my referees send me their letters?<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

All references must be confidential, which means the student cannot read them. \u00a0If you are submitting your references with your printed application, they must be in sealed envelopes. \u00a0Ideally, references should be printed on official institution letterhead and signed by the referee. \u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Can my referees email their reference letters?<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Another option is to have your referees submit their references electronically to Lia via email at lia.maria@ubc.ca<\/a>. \u00a0Again, preference would be for the email to include an attached, official signed reference on institution letterhead, but we will accept references in the form of an email. \u00a0The email MUST be sent from the referees’ institution email address – for example: \u00a0john.smith@cornell<\/a>. \u00a0We cannot accept email addresses from hotmail, gmail, etc. accounts.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure the references have been received by the deadline.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
