I&#8217;m also an organizer with Amnesty International, and it&#8217;s in this capacity that I&#8217;m reaching out to you about the\u00a0<b>Karuara (People of the River): Indigenous Amazonian Resistance tour<\/b>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: black; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: black; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;\">Date:<\/span><\/b><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: black; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;\">\u00a0Monday October 23rd, 2017<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: black; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;\">Time:<\/span><\/b><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: black; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;\">\u00a06:30 pm\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: black; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;\">Place:<\/span><\/b><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: black; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;\">\u00a0Roundhouse Community Centre (181 Roundhouse Mews, Vancouver BC)<\/span><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: black; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: black; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;\">The tour features Mari Luz Canaquiri, a leader\u00a0of\u00a0the Kukama Indigenous people who has organized resistance against pipeline plans and a massive Water Highway project on the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;\">Mara\u00f1\u00f3n River in Peru. Mari Luz will be speaking and the tour will also present short films and a book of Kukama origin stories illustrated by Kukama children.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: black; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px; color: #222222; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;\">The event is free of charge!
