{"id":3875,"date":"2017-10-25T10:01:16","date_gmt":"2017-10-25T17:01:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/lfsgrads\/?p=3875"},"modified":"2017-10-25T10:01:16","modified_gmt":"2017-10-25T17:01:16","slug":"international-students-immigration-pathway-information-session","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/lfsgrads\/post-3875","title":{"rendered":"International Students: Immigration Pathway Information Session"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Immigration Pathway Information Session<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>with IRCC and BC PNP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you are an international student interested in applying for permanent residency, this info session is for you!<\/p>\n<p>You will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>learn about federal and provincial immigration pathways to B.C.<\/li>\n<li>hear a detailed overview of how the federal Express Entry system works<\/li>\n<li>hear an update on provincial priorities, including the new BC PNP Tech Pilot<\/li>\n<li>understand the provincial registration system (SIRS) including how the points system relates to invitations to apply<\/li>\n<li>speak directly with staff from IRCC and BC PNP in a lengthy Q&amp;A<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To maximise the effectiveness of this opportunity, prior to the session, students are strongly encouraged to review:<\/p>\n<p>1)\u00a0\u00a0 the BC PNP\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.welcomebc.ca\/Immigrate-to-B-C\/BC-PNP-Skills-Immigration\/Process\">Skills Immigration<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.welcomebc.ca\/Immigrate-to-B-C\/BC-PNP-Express-Entry-B-C\/Express-Entry-B-C-Process\">Express Entry BC<\/a> processes<\/p>\n<p>2)\u00a0\u00a0 information on IRCC\u2019s federal <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cic.gc.ca\/english\/immigrate\/skilled\/index.asp\">Express Entry immigration intake system<\/a>.
