{"id":4848,"date":"2018-10-02T09:47:04","date_gmt":"2018-10-02T16:47:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/lfsgrads\/?p=4848"},"modified":"2018-10-02T09:47:04","modified_gmt":"2018-10-02T16:47:04","slug":"new-bc-institute-of-agrologists-scholarships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/lfsgrads\/post-4848","title":{"rendered":"NEW BC Institute of Agrologists Scholarships"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>NEW BC Institute of Agrologists Scholarships<\/h4>\n<p><em>Agrologists!\u00a0 Do you know a student attending a BC post-secondary agrology-related program?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>To support future agrologists in achieving their career in agrology, the BC Institute of Agrologists will award up\u00a0to\u00a0<strong>two $1500 scholarships<\/strong> annually.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scholarship Eligibility Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Scholarship applicants must be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>enrolled in a degree program in a recognized British Columbia post-secondary institute<\/li>\n<li>enrolled in 3rd or 4th undergraduate degree program or a post-graduate (Masters) program<\/li>\n<li>full-time or part-time (no fewer than 2 courses)<\/li>\n<li>enrolled in a program of study related to agrology<\/li>\n<li>a student member or member of BCIA\u00a0 (Complete student member application at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bcia.com\/members\/student-membership\">https:\/\/www.bcia.com\/members\/student-membership<\/a> )<\/li>\n<li>Canadian or permanent resident of Canada<\/li>\n<li>B+ average academic achievement in previous 2 years(minimum of 15 courses) of post-secondary degree studies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applicants must provide a 300 to 500 word essay on the topic \u201c<strong>What is Agrology in British Columbia?<\/strong>\u201d\u00a0 The essay should demonstrate an understanding of agrology in the province of BC and provide support for the ideas expressed.\u00a0 All applicants must first be accepted as a member or student member of BCIA before submitting their application.
