I would like to bring to your attention an exciting opportunity related to Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada`s (AAFC) future capacity needs to grow Canadian agriculture science and innovation.<\/span><\/p>\n

On September 21, 2018,\u00a0 Minister MacAuley announced a transformational Government of Canada investment of $70 million in agricultural discovery science and innovation. As part of this investment, over $44 million will be dedicated to hiring and equipping approximately 75 scientists and science professionals across the country over the next five years. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

AAFC recently launched its first job poster aimed at recruiting approximately 40 research scientists in emerging fields such as, agro-ecology, artificial intelligence, the various-omics (genomics, phenomics, epigenetics, etc), and clean technologies. The recruitment for these positions will continue over the next 24 months or so.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Your institutions provide a key source of highly qualified personnel that we would like to tap into.
