We have several options whether you want to spend a day skiing on the mountains or just explore beautiful Whistler village with it&#8217;s selection of shops and restaurants.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">And <strong>three<\/strong> lucky students can win a ticket for the day (not including lift pass). We will be setting up at the AMS Student Nest to explain the issues and to ask students to support the campaign by writing their comments on broken hearts.<\/p>\n<p>We need <strong>10<\/strong> student volunteers to help us out.<\/p>\n<p>If your interested email:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:aa@gss.ubc.ca\">aa@gss.ubc.ca<\/a> \u00a0and indicate what times\u00a0 you would like to volunteer, we&#8217;ll be there from\u00a09am-5:pm.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in; margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: center;\" align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-size: 27.0pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: navy; background: white;\">Student Survey Findings<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in; margin-bottom: .0001pt; text-align: center;\" align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: black;\">Over the last few months the GSS have been analyzing and interpreting the data from our 2018 survey. It provides an excellent snapshot of the experiences of graduate students at UBC.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>You can review the key findings, which cover everything from relationship with supervisors to health and finance\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/trk.cp20.com\/click\/cg1b-x05yi-i21pnw-5ksa1347\/\"><strong>HERE<\/strong><\/a>. The GSS use these results to help us advocate to the University and Province on behalf of graduate students<\/p>\n<table style=\"height: 5px;\" width=\"11\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><strong>Community Announcements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>CHANGING THE WORLD THROUGH RESEARCH<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On January 28, five outstanding UBC faculty will come together to discuss the ways in which research and scholarship can make tangible, positive differences in the world. Join us to be inspired and informed about the approaches they use and the practical, ethical and philosophical questions they struggle with.<\/p>\n<p>The panel will run from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/trk.cp20.com\/click\/cg1b-x05yi-i21pnx-5ksa1348\/\">Thea\u2019s Lounge<\/a>. Lunch will be served to the first 50 participants.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/trk.cp20.com\/click\/cg1b-x05yi-i21pny-5ksa1349\/\">Register<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 9.0pt 0in;\"><strong><u><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; color: #3c3c3c;\">BECOME A VIGILANCE AMBASSADOR<\/span><\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The H-Behaviours Research Lab (previously Sleep\/Wake-Behaviour Research Lab) at BC Children\u2019s Hospital Research Institute and the BC Injury Research and Prevention Unit at BC Children\u2019s Hospital (Vancouver, BC, Canada) are looking for interested students who will participate in a series of knowledge dissemination events as Vigilance Ambassadors.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>What?<\/em><\/strong> Vigilance Ambassadors are graduate\/undergraduate students, who are interested in vigilance research (<a href=\"http:\/\/trk.cp20.com\/click\/cg1b-x05yi-i21pnz-5ksa1340\/\">https:\/\/sleepnetwork.org\/vigilance-wakeathon\/<\/a> ). The project will start in May 2019 and end at the beginning of August 2019.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Moving and Health Study<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This project aims to better understand the health and well-being consequences of moving to a new community.
