The seminar will run from Sept 5 – 14, 2018 and will have students go to Kluane Lake in the Yukon to explore, in short, how historical and contemporary interactions between humans and the environment have shaped the present landscape.

Our hope is that you will be able to promote this opportunity to students through e-mail communication more effectively than we are able to. Students can reference our webpage for further information. If you would like any further information to assist in any promotions, please do not hesitate to ask. The deadline to apply is May 12, 2019 and we hope to have a mix of students from the Okanagan and Vancouver! Last year we had 6 students, 3 from O and 3 from V, who all spoke very highly of their experience taking part in this program.

For any promotions that are sent out, you can use the following excerpt:

“Using the Kluane Lake region, Yukon Territory as our study area, you will be exploring how historical and contemporary interactions between humans and the environment have shaped the present landscape. You will also explore how environmental and social drivers of change shape the landscape over scales of space and time, and discuss future resilience and vulnerability in this context.
