{"id":6499,"date":"2020-08-26T10:08:15","date_gmt":"2020-08-26T17:08:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/lfsgrads\/?p=6499"},"modified":"2020-08-26T10:08:15","modified_gmt":"2020-08-26T17:08:15","slug":"nserc-info-session-for-doctoral-and-postdoctoral-applicants-sept-2-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/lfsgrads\/post-6499","title":{"rendered":"NSERC info Session for doctoral and postdoctoral applicants: Sept 2, 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Attention: NSERC Doctoral and Postdoctoral applicants<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>From:<\/strong> UBC G+PS Faculty and Staff Intranet<br \/>\n<strong>Sent:<\/strong> August 26, 2020 8:55 AM<br \/>\n<strong>Subject:<\/strong> New Group Content: NSERC info Session for doctoral and postdoctoral applicants: Sept 2, 2020<\/p>\n<p>We are pleased to announce that NSERC\u2019s Scholarships and Fellowships information session will be held virtually on <strong>Wednesday, September 2, 2020<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The schedule (in PDT) is as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>10:00-11:30<\/strong> \u2013 Streaming of available NSERC informational videos (PGS D, CGS D and PDF program information, PGS D, CGS D and PDF online system tutorial, and advice and tips for writing an application); no audience interaction would take place during this portion<\/li>\n<li><strong>11:30-12:30<\/strong> \u2013 Q&amp;A session for doctoral applicants<\/li>\n<li><strong>12:30-1:30<\/strong> \u2013 Q&amp;A session for postdoctoral applicants<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Details of the info session are as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This session will focus solely on NSERC\u2019S <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nserc-crsng.gc.ca\/Students-Etudiants\/PG-CS\/BellandPostgrad-BelletSuperieures_eng.asp\">doctoral (CGS D\/PGS D)<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nserc-crsng.gc.ca\/Students-Etudiants\/PD-NP\/PDF-BP_eng.asp\">postdoctoral (PDF)<\/a> programs. The Q&amp;A sessions will be delivered as a WebEx Event and will be supported by a series of informational videos. The first three videos of the series are now available on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PL6ox0GB7vXYlhaAY7mEqwmMqYK9TGCp1E\">NSERC\u2019s YouTube channel<\/a>. These videos are intended to completely replace the presentation portion of the NSERC sessions, allowing NSERC staff and applicants to engage in a in-depth and detailed Q&amp;A session. UBC Awards staff will be available to answer questions pertaining to UBC\u2019s procedures.\u00a0<strong>Participants should watch the videos in advance and come to the Q&amp;A session with specific questions in mind<\/strong>. Graduate program staff and advisors are welcome to participate.<\/p>\n<p>If you are interested, <strong>please <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ubc.ca1.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_7afca14EElC9LjD\"><strong>register here<\/strong><\/a>.
