{"id":6507,"date":"2020-08-27T10:21:43","date_gmt":"2020-08-27T17:21:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/lfsgrads\/?p=6507"},"modified":"2020-08-27T10:21:43","modified_gmt":"2020-08-27T17:21:43","slug":"stage-2-announcement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/lfsgrads\/post-6507","title":{"rendered":"Stage 2 Announcement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><u>Stage 2 Resumption Announcement<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our faculty is preparing to enter into Stage 2 of Resumption and the official guiding document will be <a href=\"https:\/\/lfs-my.sites.olt.ubc.ca\/files\/2020\/08\/UBC_LFS_COVID19_SafetyPlan_Parent-Approved-Aug-17-2020.pdf\">the LFS Parent Plan<\/a> (general faculty plan approved August 17<sup>th<\/sup>). The target date for the commencement of Stage 2 is September 1<sup>st<\/sup>. Please note that during Stage 2, <strong><u>remote work is still highly encouraged<\/u><\/strong> but greater office access will be available to aid with furthering research and allowing for academic activities associated with term 1 remote teaching deliveries.<\/p>\n<p>The main guidelines as we move into Stage 2 are:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>All users MUST adhere to the following mandatory rules:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol>\n<li>Anyone submitting a request <strong><u>MUST wait for official approval<\/u><\/strong> prior to accessing LFS buildings.<\/li>\n<li>Anyone accessing LFS buildings <strong><u>MUST complete all <\/u><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/lfs-my.sites.olt.ubc.ca\/lfs-mandatory-training\/\"><strong>MANDATORY training<\/strong><\/a> and upload the completion records on our <a href=\"https:\/\/training-report.landfood.ubc.ca\/\">Training Record Management System<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Anyone accessing LFS building <strong><u>MUST perform the check in and check out surveys<\/u><\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Check in<\/strong>\u00a0(QR code posted at entrances): *To be completed prior to arriving on site:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ubc.ca1.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_bjdyCvEwfJigUWV\">https:\/\/ubc.ca1.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_bjdyCvEwfJigUWV<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Check out<\/strong>\u00a0(QR code posted at exits):\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ubc.ca1.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_0qWXlFJet4Oq0jX\">https:\/\/ubc.ca1.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_0qWXlFJet4Oq0jX<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Regular office use request should be submitted to lfs-restart@lists.ubc.ca before <strong><u>Sept 4<sup>th<\/sup>, 2020<\/u><\/strong>. The email should detail your office room number, whether you are in a shared office, the reason for regular office access, as well as the specific day(s) you wish to access the office. You should wait for an <strong><u>OFFICIAL APPROVAL NOTICE<\/u><\/strong> prior to accessing the building. Anyone sending in a request to regularly access shared office should review the occupancy limit for offices in <a href=\"https:\/\/lfs-my.sites.olt.ubc.ca\/files\/2020\/07\/Stage-2-MCML-Shared-Spaces-Occupancy-Limit.jpg\">MCML<\/a>\/<a href=\"https:\/\/lfs-my.sites.olt.ubc.ca\/files\/2020\/07\/Stage-2-FNH-Shared-Spaces-Occupancy-Limit.jpg\">FNH<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>One-off office request should be submitted to lfs-restart@lists.ubc.ca <strong><u>no later than noon on the preceding Friday<\/u><\/strong> in order to allow time for the committee to consider the request. Anyone sending in a request to access shared office should review the occupancy limit for offices in <a href=\"https:\/\/lfs-my.sites.olt.ubc.ca\/files\/2020\/07\/Stage-2-MCML-Shared-Spaces-Occupancy-Limit.jpg\">MCML<\/a>\/<a href=\"https:\/\/lfs-my.sites.olt.ubc.ca\/files\/2020\/07\/Stage-2-FNH-Shared-Spaces-Occupancy-Limit.jpg\">FNH<\/a>. You should wait for an <strong><u>OFFICIAL APPROVAL NOTICE<\/u><\/strong> prior to accessing the building.<\/li>\n<li>For research labs, there have been amendments on the occupancy limit of each space, which can be found under Stage 2 Research Space Occupancy Limit at <a href=\"https:\/\/lfs-my.sites.olt.ubc.ca\/files\/2020\/07\/Stage-2-MCML-Research-Space-Occupancy-Limit.jpg\">MCML<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/lfs-my.sites.olt.ubc.ca\/files\/2020\/07\/Stage-2-FNH-Research-Space-Occupancy-Limit.jpg\">FNH<\/a>. If any PIs would like to add personnel to access the research space, please <a href=\"https:\/\/srs.ubc.ca\/files\/2020\/06\/2.-Safety-Plan-Template.docx\"><strong>submit a revised safety plan<\/strong><\/a>, highlighting changes in work schedule and the information on the new lab member(s) accessing the space. If the lab(s) are shared by multiple PIs, then a coordinated safety plan will be needed to ensure occupancy limit will be respected.<\/li>\n<li>For teaching space requests (mainly for in person teaching in fall 2020), there are <a href=\"https:\/\/learningspaces.ubc.ca\/covid-19-gts-classroom-safety-planning\">specific guidelines provided by UBC learning spaces<\/a> as well as a <a href=\"https:\/\/lfs-my.sites.olt.ubc.ca\/files\/2020\/08\/COVID19-Safety-Plan-General-Teaching-Spaces.pdf\">COVID 19 Safety Plan General Teaching Space<\/a>.
