{"id":6598,"date":"2020-09-23T15:14:41","date_gmt":"2020-09-23T22:14:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/lfsgrads\/?p=6598"},"modified":"2020-09-23T15:14:41","modified_gmt":"2020-09-23T22:14:41","slug":"interdisciplinary-histories-research-cluster-cfp-history-from-page-to-stage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/lfsgrads\/post-6598","title":{"rendered":"Interdisciplinary Histories Research Cluster, CfP &#8216;History, From Page to Stage&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Interdisciplinary Histories Research Cluster<\/strong>\u00a0would like to draw your attention to\u00a0its <strong>Call for Proposals<\/strong> for the\u00a0scriptwriting competition\u00a0\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0<strong>\u201cHistory, From Page to Stage\u201d.\u00a0<\/strong> This new program is committed to transdisciplinary arts integration and, specifically, the engagement of the performing arts with history and historical research.<\/p>\n<p>We<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>invite UBC faculty and graduate students to develop short plays or new engagements with existing texts that explore the core themes of our research cluster: marginalized, traumatic, and contested histories, and the ways history is represented in the archives and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>Selected proposals will receive funds to support the development of the work, with a public showcase in the fall of 2021.\u00a0The expected length of the proposed short play\/reading is a 15 to 30-minute run-time.<\/p>\n<p>The deadline for submission is\u00a0<strong>October 8, 2020<\/strong>.
