{"id":6668,"date":"2020-10-30T08:11:33","date_gmt":"2020-10-30T15:11:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/lfsgrads\/?p=6668"},"modified":"2020-10-30T08:11:33","modified_gmt":"2020-10-30T15:11:33","slug":"tuition-fee-deferrals-for-teaching-and-research-assistants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/lfsgrads\/post-6668","title":{"rendered":"Tuition fee Deferrals for Teaching and Research Assistants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I would like to introduce Andre Nie who will be administering tuition deferrals going forward.\u00a0 If you have any questions about deadlines or processing times please email Andre directly at <a href=\"mailto:andre.nie@ubc.ca\">andre.nie@ubc.ca<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Winter Term 2<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The online deferral application will be open from <strong>November 1 to December 31<sup>st<\/sup><\/strong> for Graduate students employed as Teaching or Research Assistants.\u00a0 <em>The deferral is intended for students that do not have funds available to pay their tuition fees by the due date and are relying on their stipend to make payment.<\/em>\u00a0 Students must submit a copy of their EPAF (or if EPAF is not available proof that they are employed from Jan 1 to March 31) along with their application.<\/p>\n<p>The link to the application can be found on the Student Services website under Other Payment Options:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>UBC Vancouver: <a href=\"https:\/\/students.ubc.ca\/enrolment\/finances\/paying-tuition\">https:\/\/students.ubc.ca\/enrolment\/finances\/paying-tuition<\/a><\/li>\n<li>UBC Okanagan: <a href=\"https:\/\/students.ok.ubc.ca\/courses-money-enrolment\/finances\/tuition-and-fees\/pay-fees-and-accept-awards\/\">https:\/\/students.ok.ubc.ca\/courses-money-enrolment\/finances\/tuition-and-fees\/pay-fees-and-accept-awards\/<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Online application periods are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Summer session:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 March 1 &#8211; April 30<\/li>\n<li>Winter Term 1:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 July 15 &#8211; August 31<\/li>\n<li>Winter Term 2:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 November 1 &#8211;
