{"id":7286,"date":"2021-05-20T14:22:35","date_gmt":"2021-05-20T21:22:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/lfsgrads\/?p=7286"},"modified":"2021-05-20T14:22:35","modified_gmt":"2021-05-20T21:22:35","slug":"competition-announcement-rio-tinto-graduate-scholarship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/lfsgrads\/post-7286","title":{"rendered":"Competition Announcement: Rio Tinto Graduate Scholarship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Internal Deadline: June 2<sup>nd<\/sup>, 2021<br \/>\nPlease let me know about your intention of applying by May 26, 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rio Tinto Graduate Scholarship<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As part of its ongoing commitment to innovation and research, Rio Tinto offers an $18,000 graduate scholarship for a <strong><u>UBC graduate student in a field of pure or applied science related to Rio Tinto\u2019s activities in mining.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Eligible research areas are: aluminum metallurgy, electrolysis of molten salts, hydrometallurgy, science of the environment, analytical technologies, modeling and control systems, and data science.<\/p>\n<p>To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled or accepted in a first year Master&#8217;s or first or second year Doctoral studies in the 2021-2022 academic year.
