{"id":7760,"date":"2021-10-01T09:58:41","date_gmt":"2021-10-01T16:58:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/lfsgrads\/?p=7760"},"modified":"2021-10-01T09:58:41","modified_gmt":"2021-10-01T16:58:41","slug":"online-volunteer-mentors-needed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/lfsgrads\/post-7760","title":{"rendered":"Online volunteer mentors needed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello Students!<\/p>\n<p>We are Rural eMentoring BC and\u00a0<strong>we are looking for student volunteers to be mentors <\/strong>for our online mentoring program.\u00a0ReMBC connects rural high school students to post-secondary students around BC. <strong>No experience required!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Time commitment: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All communication is through our online platform.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Asynchronous messaging: so you can send messages whenever you want\u2014as long as you respond to your mentee within 3 days.<\/li>\n<li>Flexible timing: Logon 2-3 times per week at your convenience\u2014it\u2019s usually about a 1-3 hour commitment per week.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What you\u2019ll do:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Answer questions and give advice about life after high school.<\/li>\n<li>Help your mentee work through a flexible online curriculum of videos, articles, and discussion that covers topics like well-being, post-secondary and careers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We hope you\u2019ll join us for the 2021\/2022 school year! <strong>To apply, please visit our website<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ementoringbc.com\/mentor-requirements\">https:\/\/www.ementoringbc.com\/mentor-requirements<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Have questions?
