{"id":8859,"date":"2022-11-08T13:03:26","date_gmt":"2022-11-08T20:03:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/lfsgrads\/?p=8859"},"modified":"2022-11-08T13:03:26","modified_gmt":"2022-11-08T20:03:26","slug":"announcement-re-call-for-abstracts-for-crossroads-interdisciplinary-health-research-conference-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/lfsgrads\/post-8859","title":{"rendered":"Announcement re: Call for abstracts for Crossroads Interdisciplinary Health Research Conference 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Good afternoon,<\/p>\n<p><strong>Abstract submissions\u00a0for Crossroads 2023\u00a0are\u00a0now open!\u00a0Submissions will close\u00a0on\u00a0January 6, 2023.\u00a0<\/strong>We are asking for your assistance to spread the word.\u00a0Could you please forward the following information to student researchers (undergraduate, graduate, or post-doctoral) in your department?<\/p>\n<p>The\u202f<strong>19th Annual Crossroads Interdisciplinary Health Research Conference<\/strong>\u202fis happening\u00a0on\u00a0<strong>March\u00a010-11th, 2023\u00a0<\/strong>at the Halifax Central Library and\u00a0Dalhousie University\u2019s\u00a0Collaborative Health Education Building (CHEB) in Halifax, NS. Crossroads is\u00a0a\u00a0student-led health research conference hosted by the School of Health and Human Performance Graduate Student Society. Over the course of the conference,\u00a0two\u00a0panel\u00a0discussions\u00a0will be held,\u00a0covering\u00a0the\u00a0digitalization of\u00a0health\u00a0and\u00a0breaking down systemic\u00a0barriers for marginalized populations.\u00a0There will also be the opportunity to\u00a0participate\u00a0in one of two\u00a0interactive workshops on\u00a0photovoice\/photo-elicitation\u00a0research methods\u00a0and\u00a0trauma\u00a0awareness. On the second day of the conference,\u00a0students will have the\u00a0opportunity to present\u00a0their\u00a0research\u00a0in\u00a0either\u00a0an\u00a0oral\u00a0or poster\u00a0format.<\/p>\n<p>We will be accepting abstracts for poster and oral presentations from students\u00a0working on any\u00a0health-related project,\u00a0at any stage (e.g.,\u00a0proposal, preliminary analysis, completed),and\u00a0affiliated with\u00a0any department (e.g.,\u00a0health\u202fprofessions, business, engineering, social sciences, etc.).
