{"id":9083,"date":"2023-01-13T17:59:29","date_gmt":"2023-01-14T00:59:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/lfsgrads\/?p=9083"},"modified":"2023-01-13T17:59:29","modified_gmt":"2023-01-14T00:59:29","slug":"opportunity-bc-acarn-graduate-research-series","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/lfsgrads\/post-9083","title":{"rendered":"Opportunity: BC ACARN Graduate Research Series"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello agriculture and climate\u00a0researchers,<\/p>\n<p>I hope this finds you well after\u00a0a restful and fun winter break!<\/p>\n<p>I am reaching out to you as the\u00a0BC Agricultural Climate Action Research Network\u00a0plans a graduate research series this February, in which\u00a0we&#8217;d like to offer a platform for students to share their\u00a0findings with the BC agriculture community. We are looking to attract\u00a0students working on projects that are directly related to agricultural climate mitigation and\/or adaptation.<\/p>\n<p>I anticipate the series will span the month of February, with one virtual event per week (i.e.<\/p>\n<p>11-12pm on Feb. 7,\u00a014,\u00a021,\u00a028). Each event would include two graduate student presentations of 15-20 mins each, with time for questions.<\/p>\n<p>While extension is a key part of\u00a0BC ACARN&#8217;s mandate, we do not have expectations that the\u00a0graduate student presentations\u00a0be formal\u00a0extension resources. Rather, we hope the series can provide an\u00a0opportunity for early career researchers to gain\u00a0experience presenting to a diverse audience that includes producers, industry, and academia, and gain network connections.
