The grant will award\u00a0<strong>$1000 to successful applicants who plan to travel for field work<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The fund should go toward research<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Related to key contemporary issues in Asia, including social, political, cultural, or economic<\/li>\n<li>Which require travel between March 2023 to Dec 2023<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Application period:\u00a0<strong>JAN 16 \u2013 FEB 16<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Deadline:\u00a0<strong>FEB 16, 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applicants should submit their application with required documents to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:%20iar.sppga@ubc.ca\">iar.sppga@ubc.ca<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The applicant must either be a current Master\u2019s or Ph.D. candidate at UBC whose research is focused on Asia. They can be either domestic or international students.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application requires:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Short research proposal (approx. 1 pg)<\/li>\n<li>An email of support from a UBC faculty member<\/li>\n<li>Budget for Research and list of other sources of funding<\/li>\n<li>CV<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each application will be evaluated based on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strength of the research proposal<\/li>\n<li>Suitability of research topic<\/li>\n<li>Academic and professional experience and qualifications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Successful applicants will be notified by March 15, 2023.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Call for Applications: IAR Research Travel Grant &nbsp; The Institute of Asian Research would like to invite UBC graduate students working on research in Asia to apply for the\u00a0IAR Research Travel Grant.
